Portal is the administrative spine of the Zaag academic experience — the platform that connects a student's institutional identity to every academic, financial, and administrative touchpoint from registration through to convocation. Built on a microservices architecture and developed in-house, it consolidates every administrative interaction into a single, role-adaptive interface. The student-facing dashboard surfaces a personalised daily summary: upcoming deadlines, grade releases, financial aid updates, and advising appointments, ranked by the same notification engine that powers the broader Ecosystem.
Portal's design reflects Zaag's Building in Public philosophy: the platform's development was conducted with ongoing input from early cohort students, whose experience of provisional programme delivery under proxy agreements generated the most demanding possible test conditions for an administrative platform. The result is a system built for the edge cases — the student simultaneously enrolled across faculties, completing a clinical placement, and accessing financial aid — rather than optimised for the average use case at the expense of the exception. Role-specific views serve students, faculty, academic advisors, financial aid officers, and the Registrar's office, with permission controls managed centrally through the Zaag identity layer.

Build your term schedule against a live-updating seat count, with automatic conflict detection that flags overlapping time blocks and unmet prerequisites before you confirm. Waitlist notifications keep you informed the moment a seat becomes available.
Grades & Transcripts
Grades published in EducationSpace sync automatically to your Portal academic record. Official electronic transcripts can be requested and issued to external institutions, and your cumulative standing updates as results are released each term.
Financial Services
View itemised tuition charges, apply OSAP and bursary awards, and make payments via Interac, credit card, or bank transfer within a secure environment. T2202 tax receipts and official fee invoices are available for download year-round.
Academic Advising
Book advising sessions with your assigned faculty advisor and review a live degree progress audit that maps completed credits against every requirement in your program. Prerequisite trees, elective substitutions, and course exemption requests are all tracked in the same view.
Personal Records
Update your legal name, preferred name, mailing address, emergency contacts, and pronouns — changes propagate across all connected university systems. Student ID management and library account access are handled from the same module.
Notifications Centre
A prioritised alert feed covering registration deadlines, grade releases, fee due dates, advising reminders, and university-wide announcements. Notification preferences are fully configurable by channel — email, SMS, or in-app — so critical alerts always reach you through the channel you check first.
