Beyond the Classroom
Student Life
Building a student community rooted in belonging, wellbeing, leadership, creativity, service, and campus connection.
More Than a Degree
Zaag University's student life framework is being designed to support a welcoming, active, and engaged campus community. As student cohorts grow, Zaag will support student clubs, athletics and recreation, wellness initiatives, leadership opportunities, cultural programming, academic societies, and community service activities that help students build meaningful connections beyond the classroom.
Zaag is building its student life culture with the same deliberateness it has applied to every other dimension of the institution — from the ground up, publicly, with honest acknowledgement of what is still being constructed. The Zaag Ecosystem gives students the infrastructure: The733 for athletics and fitness, ZaagVille for residential community, ZaagClinic for health and wellness.
A Day in the Life
What a typical day looks like for a Zaag student.
Morning
The733 opens early for Zaag Zombies training sessions and general fitness use. ZaagClinic's primary care appointments begin mid-morning. Hybrid lectures and labs run through the academic buildings, with remote participants joining on equal footing. The campus is designed so that no student is more than eight minutes' walk from any facility — the physical layout is itself a statement about what the institution values.
Afternoon
Hybrid learning continues — in-person seminar sessions alongside structured online components, with VR/MR simulation suites in use for health and paramedic cohorts. EducationSpace's AI-assisted study tools surface relevant materials based on each student's engagement history. Programme Advisory Committees, which include student representation and Indigenous advisors with full voting rights, meet on a rotating schedule throughout the academic year.
Evening
ZaagVille common rooms, designed by behavioural architects for the kinds of spontaneous academic and social interaction associated with student retention, fill in the early evening. The733's facilities remain available for Zaag Zombies practice, recreational sport, and fitness. ZaagClinic's after-hours telehealth service connects students with physicians by video from 17:00 onward. The Ecosystem's notification engine consolidates everything relevant to a student's day into a single prioritised feed.
Experience Zaag
From athletics to arts, there's something for every interest and passion.
The733 — Home of the Zaag Zombies
The733 is the home of Zaag athletics and recreation. The Zaag Zombies varsity brand represents the competitive spirit of our community. As our campus and enrolment grow toward September 2026, The733 will be the anchor of athletic life at Zaag.
ZaagVille — Your Campus Community
ZaagVille is where campus life lives outside the classroom. Residential community, student spaces, and the social infrastructure of a university built for belonging. We are developing ZaagVille with the input of our existing students and alumni — not designing it for them after the fact.
ZaagClinic — Health for the Whole You
ZaagClinic serves a dual purpose: it is both the student health facility and a clinical training site for our health science programmes. Students in B.EMS, B.Sc.N, and allied health programmes gain supervised clinical experience in the same facility that serves the student community.
ZaagU Portal & EducationSpace
ZaagU Portal is your institution in your hands — academic records, services, and community access in one place. EducationSpace is where learning lives: the digital platform that hosts course content, hybrid learning tools, and the VR/MR simulation environments used across health and media programmes.
Student Clubs & Organisations
We are building our clubs and organisation framework with the first undergraduate cohort in mind. Rather than claim numbers we have not yet reached, we are inviting incoming students to found the organisations that define Zaag's culture from the ground up.
Innovation & Community
The Innovation Hub is part of Zaag's campus infrastructure — a space for student ventures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applied research. Our community partnerships are embedded in faculty mandates, not relegated to optional programmes.
"Being in the first cohort meant being part of something that was genuinely being built around us. When we flagged something that wasn't working in the curriculum, it actually changed — not eventually, but before the next module. That kind of responsiveness is what Building in Public actually means in practice. I don't think I would have had that experience anywhere else."
